MONTH OF SACRIFICE

Dear brothers & sisters-in-Christ, I greet you in the wonderful name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus will lead you with great compassion in this month of March because He gave His own life for you and me on the cross, to redeem us from the clutches of sin, curse, poverty and eternal death. To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice (Proverbs 21:3). So, do what is right and acceptable to God in this month and you will see the reward that comes from Heaven.

Why we need to sacrifice?

Sacrifice is something we ought to cheerfully accept as a fact and lead this Christian life. This life is not only all about receiving something from the Lord all the time in the world but also giving some of our things to the Lord. Sacrificing the worldly desires should be the first thing we need to do to strengthen the fellowship with the Lord…Sacrificing the ‘money motives’…Sacrificing your time to spend more time with the Lord…Sacrificing your natural instincts for the cause of good events and happenings…Putting God’s plan upfront rather than our desires and plans…These all count in the presence of the Lord when it comes to ‘pleasing God’. First of all we need to submit our bodies as a living sacrifice. That’s what Romans 12:1 says, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” Yes indeed, this is the true and proper worship. In this modern era, we think that good music, lovely songs and orderly steps and lifting up our hands are the only way to worship God and doing so we can please God. Indeed all these things are needed to make it a lively worship. Above all these, we need to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice to make our worship true and proper. Only this worship pleases God. Because Jesus became an atoning sacrifice for our sakes, we need to sacrifice our bodies as living sacrifice to please Him. And so Hebrews 10:10 says, “…we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” Yes, Jesus has made us holy once for all through the sacrifice of His body. We need to worship the Lord in spirit and truth. This will surely please God.

Conclusion:

Jesus made us holy through the sacrifice of His body….!
Jesus became a sacrifice for us to take away our sins………!
Jesus became a sacrifice for us to take away our curse………..!
Jesus became a sacrifice for us to take away our poverty…………!
So, let us submit our body, soul & spirit fully to present ourselves as a living sacrifice…!

Heavenly Father,

I come to you in the awesome name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I thank you O Lord for your love and sacrifice. You gave Yourself to redeem me from the snares of the devil and its schemes. I thank you for becoming an atoning sacrifice for my sake to lift me from the miry clay. Lord, I submit my body as a living sacrifice. Sanctify me and accept my worship. Help me to please you all the time. Bless this month O Lord with your grace and love. Let Your right hand lead me throughout this month. In Jesus precious name I pray O Lord. Amen.
